Staying in Touch - Seasonal News

5/7/11  Seasonal Email: Removal of Bulky Waste #2.  Even though an email was sent out to all seasonals demanding no bulky waste was to be put into our dumpsters, there were numerous items placed in the dumpsters over the last month to which I was billed over $1,000. Therefore the dumpsters will now be locked, only the side panels will be open for your household trash ONLY. If this trend continues the sides will be locked as well. As a result of the extra charge, all seasonals will have a $10 bill added to their accounts. As mentioned in the previous email, any seasonal caught putting bulky waste items in the dumpster will be immediately evicted from Brialee. These items are not the responsibility of the campground, they should be taken to your own local dump/transfer station. I take this very seriously as should all of you.

Brian

4/13/11 Seasonal Email:  Removal of Bulky Waste.  Effective immediately, all transfer station items, including but not limited to grills, chairs, propane tanks, refrigerators, microwaves, etc. CANNOT be put in the dumpsters at Brialee. Brialee has been fined heavily for these violations. All campers should bring these items to the transfer station in their towns to dispose of these items. If you are seen putting these in Brialee's dumpsters, you will lose your camping privileges. Thank you for your understanding. Look forward to seeing everyone in the near future. This upcoming weekend is full at Brialee, which should make for a great fun-filled weekend.

3/1/11 Update:

Well I attempted to plow the roads and was very unsuccessful. At this point, the campground is open for anyone to come in and check on their campers and camp if they so choose. The bathroom at the office is open. Depending on the weather over the next few weeks will determine access to the roads. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me. I still can't believe how bad this winter has been. See you all soon.

2/26/11 Seasonal Email re: March 1st Camp Opening - A warm greeting from your family at Brialee...  Read below, or click here to download.

Just a note, the weather has been so bad, a few Dura-Bilt roofs have collapsed.  If your roof has collapsed and need a quote to submit to your insurance company, call my cell phone and I will work directly with you and them to put up a new roof of your choosing, 860-377-5185.  If anyone that does not have a Dura-Bilt and would like one, also do not hesitate to contact me.

We wanted to open March 1st, that's tomorrow.  I will have the roads plowed by tomorrow, although passage may be a bit difficult and muddy in the very near future.  As soon as I see fit, I will be opening our main bathhouse.  When is fit?  When you have much less snow on your site and can actually "camp."  It has been asked if campers can snow blow their site.  Yikes, never thought I'd be writing that.... Yes you can do what you need to do to get down to the earth.

I recently visited my mother and Paul in Florida, they are doing exceptionally well.  They are actually heading on a bridge cruise next month.  If anyone wants to say "hi" to them, my mother's email address is
abs125ct@aol.com.  They will be returning during the month of April.

Anyone paying with your tax refund, hopefully you have already filed and will not wait until the dreaded April 15th deadly deadline.

I am currently looking for a head maintenance person, year round position, salary based on experience.  If you or anyone you may know is interested, please send a resume to my email address listed below.  Other positions available, kitchen cook & staff, office clerks and general maintenance workers (not much experience needed).

If anyone has any questions just email them to
brialeeinc@hotmail.com and I will answer them and include the answers in a list to be sent out to everyone, just in case anyone else may be asking the same question.  Please refer all questions to Brian from this point forward.  Thank God, winter is almost over.

Respectfully,

Brian
